Two of Calgary's finest artists join the orchestra for this program of some of the most famous and iconic works by two fo the greatest composers. Mozart's Clarinet Concerto is imbued with a profound creative mastery and emotional depth. Mahler's 4th Symphony is the shortest, most intimate and most performed of his symphonies. It takes us on a personal voyage through life and death, including themes of nature, the devil, the saints, ending with a sublime view of Heaven as viewed through the eyes of a child.
Join us on a voyage to Spain, its exotic nights and infectious rhythms featuring Manual de Falla's Three Cornered Hat.
We are thrilled to present these local soloists:
This popular annual concert gives the world class stage of Jack Singer Concert Hall to four winners of the Rotary Calgary Concerto Competition. These amazing young artists provide brilliant performances supported by the orchestra and our enthusiastic audiences.
