Anastasiia Lykhosherstova is an accomplished violinist and composer based in Calgary, Alberta, currently working as a composer for a video game company while maintaining an active performance career. With over two decades of musical training and professional experience spanning classical performance and contemporary composition, she brings a unique blend of traditional artistry and modern creative innovation to her work. Born in Ukraine, Anastasiia received her foundational training at the Specialised Music School of M.Korolova in Kharkiv under distinguished teachers Irina Ryabchenko, Irina Grebneva, and Sergey Chenzov. She continued her advanced studies at Kharkiv National University of Arts, earning her Master's Degree in Music under the guidance of Honored Artists of Ukraine Grigory Cooperman and Ihor Chernyavsky. Her professional career spans multiple prestigious ensembles across Ukraine and Canada. In Ukraine, she served as Concertmaster of the University of Arts Symphony Orchestra and held principal violin positions with the Youth Academic Symphony Orchestra "Slobozhansky" and Chamber Orchestra "Nova Sinfonietta." As a soloist, she has performed works ranging from Bach's Concerto for Two Violins in D minor to contemporary compositions by Katerina Palachova. She was also a featured performer at the Kharkiv Music Fest (Kharkiv, Ukraine) and Festival of Modern Art "Two Days and Two Nights of New Music" (Odessa, Ukraine) for three consecutive years.From 2019 to 2021, Anastasiia served as an Artist of Trio with the Kharkiv Philharmonic. |
After relocating to Canada, she continued her distinguished performance career as a member of the Symphony of the Kootenays and served as Concertmaster of the Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra through January 2025. She has been featured at the Mountain View Festival in 2024 and 2025, showcasing her continued commitment to live performance.
Currently, Anastasiia has expanded her musical expertise into composition, working as a composer for a video game company where she creates immersive musical experiences for interactive media. This role represents a natural evolution of her artistic journey, combining her deep classical training with contemporary digital composition techniques.
Anastasiia has enhanced her artistry through master classes with renowned international artists Ernst Arakelov (Tbilisi, Georgia), and Yuri Nasushkin (Madrid, Spain). Her talent has been recognized through international competitions, earning first prize laureate diplomas at both the VII International Festival-Competition of Arts "Musical Universe" and the VI International Internet-Competition of Arts "Music Modern" in 2021.
Currently based in Calgary, Alberta, Anastasiia continues to contribute to both the Canadian classical music scene through her performance work and the gaming industry through her composition. Her unique background bridges traditional classical excellence with cutting-edge digital media, maintaining her commitment to both established repertoire and innovative musical expression.
