“Art reflects life,” and life offers many challenges, opportunities - and interruptions! This performance celebrates the resilience of music: from Debussy and Ravel battling health issues and Prokofiev navigating government censorship to Lili Boulanger, whose brilliant career was cut short at age 24. Yet, their music continues to inspire us today!
Featuring our very own virtuoso pianist Thomas Yu and paired with a local world premiere by Arthur Bachmann commissioned for The Civic’s 50th anniversary, Genius Interrupted promises a uniquely profound afternoon of music-making.
